Over the past 20 years, Dr. Melody Ivory has worked as a computer scientist, performance poet, college professor, radio host, natural care products developer and author of five books. Melody has spoken at the Women in Small Biz Summit, eWomen Network, Microsoft Research, Mills College’s Women’s Leadership Institute, and others. She was the first African American Woman to graduate from the University of California at Berkeley with a Ph.D. in computer science. Melody is currently working on her one-woman show titled, “The Road M Traveled.” Dr. Ivory combines the eye of an artist, heart of a poet and discipline of a scientist to awaken mid-career women to follow their life’s calling. Dr. Melody Ivory is the poet for the 2010 Women's Empowerment & Prosperity Summit™.
